Towns of South-East Spain - Costa Blanca South
Ciudad Quesada
Ciudad
Quesada is a relatively new town that was established in 1972
by Justo Quesada Samper, a remarkable man who wanted to create
a place where people could enjoy the Spanish way of life.
Such was the success of his work that in 1999 Quesda was awarded
its own Town Hall. In contrast there is the delightful town
of Rojales with its oldie world Spanish style and the famous
shell house. Visitors may also wish to take a trip to the
Parque Natural de La Mata y Torrevieja
From junction 745 of the AP-7 you take the CV90 to enter
Ciudad Quesada through an impressive archway leading to the
main street full of shops, bars and restaurants plus a Medical
Centre and well attended Social Club.
The views are spectacular in Quesada, you can see many neighbouring
towns and villages all the way across to the salt lakes and
natural park of La Mata and Torrevieja then beyond to the
beautiful blue Mediterranean. The Parque Natural de La Mata
y Torrevieja has salt flats and so lots of wildlife rest there
Walking and cycling routes are marked out and there is a small
Tourist Information office on the N332 at La Mata
This is very much a residential area but a smattering of
tourism made popular by its close proximity to the beaches
of Guardamar and the therapeutic salt lake environment.
La Laguna Hotel in Quesada is a stunning hotel with great
restaurant and bar and a superb health spa if you are looking
for some pampering.
Quesada is very well located for Alicante airport as it takes
little more than 20 minutes to drive there and the main road
network is easily accessed for journeys to surrounding towns.
The property in Quesada ranges from 1 bedroom holiday apartments
to magnificent detached villas and great care has been taken
to make sure that they all blend beautifully with the natural
environment.
