Towns of South-East Spain - Costa Blanca South
Dolores
Villages
of the Vega Baja: Dolores
Dolores is situated in the Vega Baja region just off the
N332 near Catral. Guardamar is probably one of the nicest
nearby coastal resorts and is easily accessible from Dolores.
Dolores is basically an agricultural village specialising
in the cultivation of artichokes. The weekly market takes
place every Friday and is well worth a visit if you are looking
for a bargain or you just want to sample the local produce.
The village square is particularly nice and like so many
Spanish villages the facilities are there for you to take
advantage of the mild climate and to enjoy some good quality
outdoor wining and dining.
There are lots of little coffee shops and bars to discover.
If you are interested in livestock this is the place for
you – the ‘Feria Granadera’ show is held
here and Dolores is well known for the cattle that are bred
here. Also you will frequently hear about horse show events,
dressage, show jumping and of course you can ride at the nearby
stables.
