Villamartin

Villamartin is about 8 km south of Torrevieja and is just a short drive from the A7 motorway to Alicante and Cartagena. 45 minutes driving gets you to Alicante airport and 25 minutes in the opposite direction gets you to San Javier airport. A 5 minute drive towards the coast takes you to La Zenia with its beautiful sandy bay.

There is plenty to entertain the whole family in this area but Villamartin is definitely best known for its superb golf course where the Spanish Open has been held and of course the fabulous square shown in the photo. Wonderful restaurants, bars and cafes make this a real magnet for golfers enjoying the many courses in the area and the mild winter golfing weather that we never seem to get in the UK. Club de Golf Villamartin opened in the early 70’s so it’s a well established course and well maintained

It’s a very cosmopolitan community and as you sit under the huge palm trees sipping your tipple you’ll hear every sort of accent mixed with the squawking of the colourful parakeet in the trees above. The plaza includes a bank, golf shop, boutique, chemist, supermarket, ATM and bank plus a good health center, all important hair dressing salon and of course a sports bar with betting facilities.

Not surprisingly this is a very popular area for discerning investors and you will often find that new developments are completely sold out off plan before the first brick is even laid.
